WHAT IS FRIENDS OF DAVIS LOVE FOUNDATION?
Friends of Davis Love Foundation is a program administered by the Davis Love Foundation designed to help raise money for charities participating in the program. Each participating charity sells raffle tickets ($20 each) for the chance to win a brand new Buick Encore from Nalley Automotive Group. 100% of the money collected through the raffle is distributed back to the participating charities.
Each charity will receive raffle tickets by early August 2019. Charities will have until Friday, November 9, 2019, to sell raffle tickets and raise money for their organization. A drawing for the Grand Prize winner of the Buick Encore will take place during The RSM Classic.
BONUS POOL
In addition to receiving 100% of raffle ticket sales, the Davis Love Foundation will fund a $75,000 Bonus Pool that will be distributed to participating charities based on raffle ticket sales performance. The more contributions your organization raises, the more bonus dollars your organization will receive!
What did we use the funds for in 2018?
The challenge we had in 2017, our second year as a chapter of The First Tee, was fitting our young golfers with the appropriate equipment. A majority of our equipment was donated by various courses, organizations, and members of the community and although we were and still are very appreciated of the support, full junior sets in good condition were hard to come by. For the 2018 programs, a decision was made to purchase 70 color-coded, size appropriate junior golf sets for a variety of ages. Any junior who does not have golf clubs will no longer receive miscellaneous clubs to use. Instead, they will receive a full set sized appropriately for them. In addition, at any time throughout the year, juniors enrolled in our programs will have the ability to sign clubs out that are sized appropriately for them, much like a library card to encourage more play on-course and outside of regularly scheduled programs.
What will we use the funds for in 2019?
In building a quality LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Program we recognized the need for girls in our program to have young women who they could look up to within the game of golf. The support system from Brunswick High School and Glynn Academy Girls Golf Teams have become that mentor-ship needed. Hours are donated by these young women to empower and engage younger golfers and in turn The First Tee of the Golden Isles will assist the High School Girls Teams by becoming an apparel sponsor. Each polo and pullover will have the logo of The First Tee of the Golden Isles showing our support for these young women on and off the golf course. Additional funds raised will be allocated to provide participants and volunteers registered in on-course programming with golf attire needs.
